34 Aiko solar panels & 45 kWh Sigenergy home battery with full backup

A project to be proud of. The residents contacted us because they had heard that we also carry out larger and technically complex energy projects. After an in-depth on-site consultation, we drew up a comprehensive energy plan for the renovation of a former horse barn that had been converted into an office.

There were still 40 solar panels on the roof, connected to four different inverters. Ultimately, we decided to replace the entire system with 34 new 475 Wp Aiko solar panels. Thanks to the latest cell technology, these panels perform better in shaded and cloudy conditions, which is a major advantage at this location with its many trees. Furthermore, the existing solar panels were nearly ten years old by that point.

The home is fully electrified, features two powerful heat pumps, and uses electric vehicles. Due to the high energy consumption, a 45 kWh Sigenergy home battery with full backup functionality was selected. This ensures that the entire home continues to function normally in the event of a power outage.

The battery is installed in the utility room of an outbuilding. We are closely monitoring its performance during the first year. Should energy consumption increase further in the future—for example, due to additional electrification—the system can easily be expanded with an extra battery module. Based on initial calculations, however, we expect the current capacity to be more than sufficient.

The results speak for themselves. During the sunny weeks following completion, the home required virtually no electricity from the grid. A wonderful example of how solar panels, a large home battery, and smart energy management work together to ensure maximum independence and a minimal energy bill.
