This new home, located in the beautiful dune and forest-rich surroundings of Schoorl, is fully equipped for the future right from the start. Twenty-four solar panels have been installed in an array, connected to no less than 45 kWh of battery storage.
Thanks to a dynamic energy contract, the battery is charged not only during the day with solar energy, but also at night when electricity prices are low or even negative. As a result, despite its high energy consumption, the home almost always has access to the most cost-effective electricity available.
Because the home was built entirely without gas and has relatively high electricity consumption, a larger storage capacity was deliberately chosen. This allows a large portion of the daily energy consumption to be supplied directly from the battery.
A Gateway is installed above the battery. In the event of a power outage, it automatically switches to the batteries, ensuring that the entire home continues to be supplied with power—as long as there is sufficient energy in the battery, of course. In the summer, this capacity is usually fully replenished the next day by the solar panels. You can easily set the emergency power reserve yourself via the app. In the summer, a reserve of about 10 to 25% is often sufficient, while in the winter a higher reserve is advisable because the solar panels generate less energy then. This ensures that there is always sufficient capacity available for unexpected power outages.
A beautiful and future-proof energy system that allows residents to enjoy maximum independence, smart energy management, and extra security in the event of a power outage for years to come.
